As chief operating officer of Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI), Brett Boncher oversees the divisions that deliver commercial, energy and data center projects across the nation. The teams under Boncher have built some of the largest data center and renewable energy projects in the U.S. and earned largest “solar + storage” contractor status in 2023 (Solar Power World).
Boncher joined Cupertino Electric more than 28 years ago and has served in estimating, project management and executive roles throughout his tenure. During his decade in project management, Boncher oversaw a variety of fast-track Design/Build data center, education and casino projects at CEI. He also ran multi-million-dollar projects for high-profile clients such as Kaiser, Yahoo!, NVIDIA, Veritas, Enron, Informatica and Sprint. Prior to becoming COO in 2020, Boncher was senior vice president of operations running CEI’s $750 million Data Center Division and corporate-wide business processes efforts.
Today as COO, Boncher grows CEI’s business by delivering world-class services, driving profitable results, and utilizing technology to take the company to the next level. His experience, strong academic credentials, and ability to motivate and lead teams make him a critical member of the CEI management team. He holds a bachelor's degree from UCLA and has been trained in LEED and LEAN practices.
