As Vice President of Operations, Energy at Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI), Chris Martin oversees the company’s significant energy business that includes all renewable and distributed generation projects constructed across the United States. Prior to overseeing all energy operations for CEI in 2023, Martin ran CEI’s distributed generation business encompassing EV charging, substation and microgrid projects.
Martin has grown up in the electrical construction industry and, after earning an electrical engineering degree in 2010, joined CEI to oversee projects of various types before becoming a trusted distributed generation expert.
In his current role, Martin is responsible for all aspects of CEI’s Energy Division and its large-scale, national project portfolio. He fosters customer relationships with some of the largest developers and owners in the world and ensures that estimating, procurement, construction, project controls, work methods and safety are top-notch. Martin is known for having a rare combination of technical knowledge, strong customer relations and proven people management skills.
Martin studied electrical engineering at San Jose State University and is a proud second-generation CEI employee who was instrumental in securing CEI’s status as “largest solar + storage contractor” in the U.S. in 2023 (Solar Power World).
