The work on this Port of Los Angeles project took place over 72 acres of backland at Berths 142-143 at the port. The electrical portion of the project completed by Cupertino Electric required infrastructure upgrades including new high voltage 34.5 kV electrical substations, multiple feeds from DWP, switchgear, transformers, and extensive underground conduit for telecommunications, fiber optics and power. The infrastructure provides 12.47 kV power to feed two automated stacking cranes in each of 15 automated stacking blocks at the high-traffic port.
